Wow!!! We had a really long day today, but what a fun day it was. We were at Minneapolis-St Paul Airport at 5am to catch our flight. We got to watch the sunrise over Minnesota on our flight towards Washington DC. We grabbed a quick lunch at the Capital before boarding our plane to sunny Florida for our first game of our trip.
As we entered Hammond Stadium, Twins were leading 3-1, and we were lucky to catch # 7, Mr. Mauer walk to the batting plate. We didn’t see a homerun, but we were lucky to see a bat shatter to pieces, and another bat fly out of the batters hand. Cardinals made a great comback on the final inning, winning 4-3.
We chatted with other Twins fans as well as some Cardinal fans on our way out. Lucky few got to take a photo with TC on our way out. We waited in the parking lot hoping to get an autograph or two, but had to come back as we were all getting hungry and tired. We ate some delicious food next to our hotel before retiring for the night.
