The rain has stopped (for now) and the sun is back! All of our warm weather plants look happier already. As is the case with many farms right now, Peppers, Egg Plant, Cucumbers and Tomatoes have been slow this year, but we’re seeing a jump in all of those crops over the past few days. Another thing that has been slow for us this year is our herbs. We usually have them by now, but this was the first year we didn’t grow them inside one of our hightunnels (seasonal green-house) and instead planted them outdoors. So while we wait for Basil, Parsley , Cilantro etc. we decided we’d give all of our members a Basil pot along with this week’s produce. We can see whose is ready first, the one we give you to care for, or the bunches that will be in your boxes in the weeks to come.

The items we’ve been providing you with thus far have been a big hit at the farmers’ market. Lettuce is always our biggest seller this time of the year. Not everyone does the leaf mixes like we do, or even the spicy lettuce mix. Customers appreciate the fact that we wash and spin all of our greens. Radishes and Kohlrabri have been big sellers for us this year, and Kale always is. One of our main focuses is the presentation of our produce down at the market, we encourage people to come down and take a look!

We will be at Northeast Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9am to 1pm.
