Day 1 and 2 (September 18 and 19 2012)
It was the first trip to sunny California for eQ eXplorers where the weather was at mid 80’s. After a delayed flight, we arrived at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, CA. While the coordinators checked us in, we sat on cool tea-cup couch. We picked our rooms, and the guys got the 5th floor with the pool view and the girls got the 7th floor with Downtown Disney view. We settled in for the night for a full 2 day of adventure at Disneyland.
As we had two wonderful park to choose from, we decided to visit Disneyland Park. After breakfast in the park, we started our long adventure. While eating breakfast, we had looked at the map and knew exactly where we wanted to visit. We headed straight to the haunted house, and it was the perfect timing as it was more terrifying due to Halloween decoration. After getting spooked by some scary monsters, we decided to visit the Pirates of the Carribean. We journeyed through the deep sea and encountered battle ships, pirate treasures, and even Jack Sparrow. After escaping the pirates, some of us decided to ride the Splash Mountain while others stayed back. The ride was extreme, and considering that it is “Splash” mountain, we got really wet. But no worries, Cali Sun dried us off real fast.
We stopped for a quick lunch at Village Haus Restaurant, we headed straight to Fantasyland where we entered the breath-taking Disney Castle. This is where we rode the flying elephant Dumbo, the Mad Tea Party (spinning tea cups), and the bumpy Matterhorn Bobsleds. By this time, we were tired and feet hurting, but we replenished ourselves with cold beverages and headed towards Tomorrowland. How could we not visit Tomorrowland afterall we had a die-hard Star Wars fan. We took a trip to the Galaxy via Star Tours ride, and shot into space at the Space Mountain. It was an epic ride!! We ended our first day of adventure with some souvenir shopping and luckily got to see the Disney parade. We hit the nice California pool and after a refreshing dip, we strolled around Downtown Disney and ate at the Storytellers Cafe, where we were served by a wonderful gentleman name Carlos. It was a wonderful end to a beautiful day.
