Day 3 – Washington D.C. 6/6/12

The eQuality explorerss were a bit slow moving this morning, but as excited as ever to get back out in D.C. We started our day taking the Metro all the way from our hotel in Maryland to Union Station. It was like there was a whole city within the famous Union Station. We especially enjoyed shopping at all the unique and funky shops at the station. Then, just as we were exiting Union Station, we ran right into Jesse Jackson! He was with lots of men in suits and there were cameras and lights there waiting for him as he walked in. But we had no time to lose! We headed outside to meet our double-decker bus for a more in-depth tour of D.C. It was wonderful to be basking in the sun, the wind in our hair, as we learned all about some of the coolest places in D.C. Here’s a list of the coolest sites we saw: Holocaust Museum, Jefferson Memorial, FDR Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, MLK Memorial, and the WWII Memorial. We even ate lunch outside at a little café with Lincoln looking down on us! Then, we hopped back on the bus and got to see the White House, Pentagon City Mall, and even the Treasury, where they make all the money. Don’t be mistaken, however, even though we rode the bus sometimes, we did even more walking today than ever before! The girls had run out of steam by 5:00pm, so we grabbed some dinner and hopped the Metro back to our hotel.
