We love taking arts classes at the Minnetonka Center for Arts at the Ridgedale Library. We not only learn about arts but also become very creative. For Halloween, we designed our own Halloween Candy, which was super fun. Our art instructor Ruth gave us a giant candy made out of white paper and stuffed with scrap paper and foam. We then thought about our favorite candies and tried to come up with our creative name for our candy. We became more creative and thought about making our favorite snacks too.

In a blank paper, we wrote down our candies name that rhymed with our names. Some examples are Jaco’s Jelly Beans, MN Vikings Popcorn, Sunny Funny, and Doug’s Pizza Candy. We then painted the giant candy with our color for our candies. We let it dry for a few minutes and wrote down our candy name. We then made different designs on the candy to add more color and make it more vibrant.

We really had fun making our own candies, and we hope you make your own candies too now that you know how to make it.
