Interfaith Outreach & Community Partners, or IOCP, is a well-known organization that has been affecting positive change in the western suburbs of Hennepin County since 1979. However, it wasn’t until 2011, when IOCP moved into its new home in Plymouth, that eQuality- Pathways to Potential was given its first opportunity to share in and help further the goals and values of not only IOCP, but also eQuality-Pathways to Potential. It should come as no surprise that the mission of both IOCP and equality PTP share a common thread – engage the hearts of individuals and encourage them to actively participate in and contribute to our community in order to create opportunities for which all may thrive.

eQuality Associate Kelsey Klingner started volunteering in the Children’s Play Area at the IOCP Family Service and Learning Center in April. Each Wednesday from 9:00am until 12:00pm Kelsey helps other IOCP volunteers supervise the children and ensure a safe environment so kids can have fun while their parents have appointments at the center. Kelsey says she is grateful that she has been given the opportunity to make a difference in her community and at the same time do something she is passionate about- being with kids! “I work at the Lifetime Fitness in Plymouth and then I also get to offer my time helping with the daycare at IOCP. It’s cool because parents can leave their kids with us in the Children’s Play Area so they can go meet with the staff at IOCP for help with finding jobs or housing or access the food shelf here.” To learn more about the services IOCP provides or if you are interested in volunteering or donating to IOCP yourself, go to their website www.iocp.org for more information.
