Day 2 – Washington D.C. 6/5/12

So much to say… So little time! The eQuality girls ‘rocked’ the DC area Metro system – OK, it did take a bit of help from some awesome Branch Station Metro staff, but now we are pros! Thanks to MN Congressman Erik Paulsen and his amazing staff, Jake and Andrew, the eQuality explorers were treated to a top secret guided tour of the Capitol. Our top highlights: D.C.’s best view from Speaker of the House Boehner’s private balcony, coveted V.I.P. access to pictures on the front steps of the Capitol, and the beautiful mural painted on the ceiling of the Capitol dome.

The girls picked Miss Saigon, a cool Vietnamese restaurant, for lunch and a chance to rest our weary feet. The day continued to be gorgeous at 70’s and breezy, so we strolled through the U.S. Botanical Gardens and checked out Ulysses S. Grant Memorial and the Capitol reflecting pool. We then decided to wander through Georgetown on foot to do some shopping. We even stopped by the oldest house in Washington D.C., The Old Stone House, built in 1764. It was quite a day and I’m sure it won’t take us long to fall asleep tonight!
