Namaskar!!

On Thursday, April 19th 2012, eQuality Associates for a brief moment, landed in the famous movie industry of India, Bollywood. Featuring some popular Bollywood movie songs from DJ Nick, the Minnetonka Community Center lit up colorfully with songs like “Jee Karda” (Heart feels like), and “Desi Girl” (Indian Girl).

The Spring Dance is organized annually to educate associates on world cultures in an interactive way. Besides featuring Bollywood songs, the associates also learned about the colorful movie industry of India and a movie-plot. The stage was bright and colorful, reminiscent of Bollywood movie sets, and Calligraphy in Devanagari Script used in Sanskrit, Hindi and Nepali.

The event kicked off with a short presentation on Travel Club by Carlie, followed by a welcome by Sandeep. The Plymouth Creek Center crew enacted the “Wizard of Oz” under the direction of Jacqueline. The act ended with a trivia, “Which part of the movie was shot outdoors?”

As the actors exited the stage, the associates started shaking their head, hips, and legs to the awesome tracks by DJ Nick. eQuality staff and all the guests quickly hit the dance floor being inspired by moves of the associates. Some took time to catch up on a quick conversation, while others grabbed some delish cookies and lemonade. The dance was full entertainment as guests played some Gnome Bowling, Bean Bag Toss, Limbo, and Hula-Hoop. Interested travelers stopped by the Travel Club booth to learn more about upcoming trips with Carlie. The guests also had their names written in Nepali/Hindi Script by Sandeep.

The party and dancing continued under the observant eyes of Greg, Mona, and Grace who picked out the best dancers. The best couple dancers went to the cute pair of Claire and Todd . Tina was the best Bollywood Female Dancer and James was the superstar Best Male Dancer. The raffle draw prize went to Lucy. With the prize ceremony, the dance came to an end, some still shaking their hips as they exited the building.

Oh.. and the correct answer to the Wizard of Oz trivia was: The casting clouds in the movie.
